COFOCE Visits Sweet Seasons

A StrategicCollaboration to Nourish the World from Mexican Soil

ree

At Sweet Seasons, we believe that the best fruits of the land are born not only from the soil,

but from cooperation, shared values, and a deep commitment to purpose. That belief came to

life on July 29, when we proudly hosted a delegation of agri-export producers from

Guanajuato, along with representatives of the Coordinadora de Fomento al Comercio

Exterior (COFOCE), at our headquarters in McAllen, Texas.

This visit was not just a tour—it was a powerful moment of connection between the field and

the global market. A celebration of what happens when institutions, producers, and companies

align around a shared vision: to nourish the world with integrity, innovation, and

collaboration.

Why This Visit Matters

As one of the most dynamic states in Mexico’s agricultural export landscape, Guanajuato

plays a key role in the development of high-value fruits and vegetables that reach markets

across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. COFOCE, as the state’s trade

promotion agency, has been instrumental in building international bridges for producers

through strategic guidance, capacity building, and market intelligence.

COFOCE plays a fundamental role in empowering producers to take the leap toward

international collaboration by offering pathways to connect with global buyers, COFOCE

helps make export success not only possible but sustainable. Their work fosters trust, builds

capacity, and creates the conditions for long-term alliances.

We were honored to welcome a diverse group of producers during this visit, representing

crops that speak to the richness of Mexico’s agricultural potential. Among the attendees were

growers of broccoli, celery, onions, chiles, raspberries, and pitahaya—each bringing

unique strengths, visions, and stories to the table. Their presence reminded us of the depth

and diversity of talent that powers our produce industry.

By visiting Sweet Seasons, participants had the opportunity to explore how we manage the

complexity of international produce trade—from cold chain logistics and traceability

systems, to quality assurance protocols and market-specific compliance.

But beyond the technical know-how, we shared the philosophy that drives us: a company

built on values, rooted in the land, and committed to creating lasting impact through every fruit we deliver.

A Walk Through Our Operations

During the visit, guests toured our facilities and experienced firsthand how Sweet Seasons

integrates technology, sustainability, and human expertise to deliver produce that meets the

highest global standards. We walked through the end-to-end journey of the fruit—from farm to final destination.

Our teams shared how we uphold food safety certifications like GLOBAL G.A.P., PrimusGFS, and

SMETA, and how those standards support the global competitiveness of Mexican agriculture.

Attendees also explored our work in packaging innovation, logistics optimization, and

sustainability practices designed to reduce food waste and enhance shelf life.

Shared Values: The Foundation of Collaboration

The most meaningful exchanges didn’t happen in front of machines or monitors—they

happened in conversations around shared purpose. At Sweet Seasons, our work is guided by

a set of values that are embedded in our name:

• Nurture Growth: in people, in communities, in business.

• Open Horizons: exploring new markets, connecting cultures, expanding the reach of

what we grow.

• Uplift Communities: working to ensure that the benefits of trade reach rural families

and local economies.

• Radiate Positivity: bringing energy, transparency, and optimism to everything we do.

• Inspire Wholeness: promoting food that nourishes body and spirit.

• Steward Nature: protecting the land that sustains us.

• Harvest Joy: delivering not just produce, but experiences, memories, and stories.

These values were evident throughout the day—in every presentation, handshake, and idea

shared.

Empowering Producers, Building Opportunity

Perhaps the most powerful part of the day came during our roundtable with the visiting

producers from Guanajuato. These individuals are the heart of Mexico’s agricultural engine—

committed, resilient, and forward-looking.

We discussed the real challenges they face: shifting trade regulations, logistics costs, quality

demands, and the need for greater connectivity with buyers. We listened, exchanged insights,

and outlined paths for possible collaboration—from co-packing and joint distribution

efforts, to participation in upcoming international trade shows.

We reaffirmed our belief that a more equitable and efficient supply chain must start with

dignifying the work of the people who grow our food.

A Step Forward in Mexico–U.S. Agroexport Relations

The presence of COFOCE was not just ceremonial—it was strategic. Their role as facilitators of

international business provides a vital link between small and mid-size producers and global

markets. Through initiatives like market intelligence, export diagnostics, and e-commerce

acceleration, COFOCE strengthens Mexico’s presence in global value chains.

By engaging directly with Sweet Seasons, COFOCE gained insight into the logistical,

regulatory, and commercial dynamics of cross-border produce trade, enabling them to better

support producers ready to scale. We look forward to deepening this relationship, not only through future visits but through joint training programs, co-hosted market initiatives, and international promotion campaigns.

Looking Ahead: Sweet Seasons and the Road to Global

Impact

This visit was just one moment—but one with lasting implications.

In a world where consumers are increasingly concerned with where their food comes from,

how it’s grown, and who grows it, Sweet Seasons continues to stand for transparency,

quality, and purpose. And we want to be part of shaping a produce industry that is not only

efficient, but ethical, inclusive, and future-ready.

We believe that by working together—with producers, institutions like COFOCE, and

governments—we can transform Mexican agriculture into a global reference for

sustainability, innovation, and integrity.

As the delegation departed, one message resonated above all: Sweet Seasons is more than

a company—it’s a platform for connection. A place where produce becomes purpose, and

trade becomes transformation.

We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us and reaffirm our commitment to remain open,

collaborative, and always grounded in our mission to Nourish the World.

To the producers, government representatives, and COFOCE team: thank you for walking this

path with us.

This is just the beginning.
